At JCW Drafting, we are committed to advancing Australia's manufacturing capabilities by focusing on local innovation and sustainable practices. 

Our recent research and development efforts have led to a cheaper alternative for the production of steel 3D printed products using Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing (ADAM) technology. 

This process involves encasing metal powder in a plastic binder, which is then printed layer by layer. After printing, the part undergoes a debinding solution wash and sintering in a furnace, resulting in high-accuracy metal parts suitable for end-use applications, prototypes, and tooling. This manufacturing can be done through manufacturing kits priced well over $1mil or through internal development such as the process JCW Drafting has achieved, leading to cheaper production costs and quicker product turnaround. Testing has yet to be completed providing the material strengths and characteristics of these metals.

In addition, we are developing a completely Australian-made Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) filament or pellet plastic, utilising the local sugar industry in Mackay and the Whitsundays. This production is as Australian made as it gets, from the initial bacteria, feedstock, catalysts, solvents, microscopes, centrifuges, distillation equipment, ovens, and much more all sourced nationally. 

PLA is a biodegradable plastic, traditionally produced utilising renewable resources such as the byproducts in corn starch and rice making it an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional petroleum plastics.

By sourcing raw materials locally, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint and support regional agriculture.
